Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research using online databases, library resources, and other sources to support case preparation and legal analysis.
  • Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards and requirements.
  • Organize and maintain case files, documents, and exhibits, including indexing, filing, and retrieving documents for reference and use in legal proceedings.
  • Assist with case management activities, including scheduling hearings, depositions, and court appearances, and coordinating with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
  • Review and summarize legal documents, contracts, and transcripts, highlighting key facts, issues, and findings for attorney review and analysis.
  • Coordinate with court personnel, government agencies, and other parties to facilitate document filings, service of process, and case-related communications.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including preparing trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks, and providing support to attorneys during courtroom proceedings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive information and communications related to legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certification preferred.Proven experience as a paralegal or in a legal support role, with a strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and concepts.
  • Proficiency in legal research methods and resources, including LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other online legal databases.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents and correspondence.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities.Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation, review, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software applications.Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment, supporting attorneys and colleagues in achieving shared goals and objectives.
