Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with document preparation, drafting legal correspondence, and organizing case files.
  • Manage and maintain legal documents, correspondence, and records in electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases and resources to support case preparation and legal analysis.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, pleadings, and forms with courts, government agencies, and other parties as required.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances for attorneys and clients.
  • Assist with case management tasks, including calendar management, deadlines, and client communications.
  • Communicate and liaise with clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather information and coordinate legal matters.
  • Provide administrative support, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling inquiries from clients and external contacts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification or relevant coursework is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation, proofreading, and editing.
  • Knowledge of legal document formatting and citation styles (e.g., Bluebook, APA).Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and external contacts.
